Aline Bartenstein joined the FAU Chair of Sustainability Transition Policy in 2025. She works on sustainability transition policies and the accompanying narratives. Prior to this, she worked at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Studies (IFSH) at the University of Hamburg and at the Jean Monnet Chair for EU Studies at the University of Cologne. Her dissertation was completed in 2021 with the University of Cologne on the topic of European energy solidarity. Aline Bartenstein studied Political Science, Energy Economics and European Studies in Cologne, Montpellier (France) and Brno (Czech Republic). Her research was published in the journals European Security, Global Social Policy and German Politics.
