Puru Malhotra joined the Chair of Sustainability Transition Policy as a Student Assistant in 2024. Since November 2025, he has worked as a doctoral researcher as part of the International Doctoral Programme in Business and Human rights (IDP-BHR).
He earned his bachelor’s in business economics from the University of Delhi and his master’s in Development Economics and International Studies from FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. His research focuses on assessing the socio-economic effectiveness of climate policies in developing countries using empirical methods.
